Island Transportation& Sightseeing Tour Buses

Driving is a great way to see the island without worrying about a timetable. To rent a car, it is best to make a reservation well in advance. Sightseeing taxis and tour buses are also available. Please visit the Sado Tourism Association website for details.

Regular City Buses

EC takes place just a few minutes on foot from Ogi Port. Traveling to the EC venues in Ogi via local island buses takes approximately 1hr 50min from Ryotsu Port, 30 min from Akadomari Port, and 1hr 40 min from Aikawa, which is 1hr 10min from Ryotsu Port. However, island buses are infrequent so be sure to check Sado Island Ferry & Bus Timetable before you make plans. Various special bus services will be running during the 3-day festival.

Sightseeing Tour Buses

Sado Island has many points of significance including the Sado complex of heritage mines, Japan Geopark, Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems. This year the additional bus routes provide easy access to Shukunegi, Sado’s Taiko Experience Hall Tatako-kan, and the geo-site in Ogi. There’s also a sightseeing bus(operating on weekends and holidays) to the town of Aikawa that still retains the feeling of the height of the gold-mining center it once was. We hope you use this opportunity to fully enjoy everything Sado has to offer.
