Harbour Market Live

For the 30th year anniversary, we will present three nights of concerts with “Harbour Market Live” (paid admission). Enjoy these outdoor performances featuring the collaborations between Kodo and guest artists.

EC Theatre

In a small space we can experience things as one. Enjoy EC theatre, created by audiences and performers and staff alike.

Workshops & Seminar

The joy of workshops is it be able to have direct contact with Kodo members and staff, and have a first-hand experience of the art of Sado. We invite you to delve into the wonder of taiko, song and dance.

Exhibition: ‘Living, Learning, and Creating’

This exhibition offers a rare glimpse into the processes and innovations that go into creating performance.

Special Project (Sado Island Taiko Centre, Apprentice Centre)

At the Sado Island Taiko Centre (Tatako-kan) there will be short workshops held over three days. This year again, the second-year Kodo apprentice class will participate in introducing the Apprentice Centre and its activities.

Many excursions and activities under the themes of “nature,” “arts and cuisine,” and “history” have been arranged for you to discover some of the many charms of Sado Island for yourself.

Experience Onidaiko & Indulge In EC: 4 nights/5 days monitor tour

This program allows guests to enjoy the traditions and arts of each village in the context and atmosphere of their everyday lives. This year we are excited to offer a 4 night, 5 day monitor tour.

Pre-EC Event “Sado Takigi Noh Performance”

This special performance features dance choreographed by Kodo’s own Tomohiro Mitome and Yuki Hirata. Enjoy this profound, "Yugen" performance lit by the bonfires.

Harbour Market

Full of artisans and craftspeople featuring goods from all over the world, as well as a vast offering of foods and drinks. Revel in this space for new encounters under the blue sky, next to the endless sea.

Fringe

Let’s enjoy taiko performances, live bands, shamisen story-telling, dance, folk performances from Sado and beyond, and other genres of performance all free of charge!
