Island Transportation

Driving is a great way to see the island without worrying about a timetable.

To rent a car, it is best to make a reservation well in advance. Sightseeing taxis and tour buses are also available. Please visit Sado Tourism Association website for details.

During EC, there will be EC special buses (EC liner bus, EC express bus, EC Ogi circle bus, etc.) running in addition to regular local bus routes.

Regular City Buses

EC takes place just a few minutes on foot from Ogi Port. Traveling to the EC venues in Ogi via local island buses takes approximately 1hr 50min from Ryotsu Port, 30 min from Akadomari Port, and 1hr 30 min from Aikawa, which is 1hr 10min from Ryotsu Port. However, island buses are infrequent so be sure to check Sado Island Ferry & Bus Timetable before you make plans. Various special bus services will be running during the 3-day festival.

EC Bus Day-Pass

With this pass, during the designated valid time frame you can ride all you want on the EC special buses (liner bus, express bus, Ogi circle bus), routed street bus, and Aikawa tour circle bus!

During the day, there will be a bus running in a circular route from Ogi [小木] ~ Shukunegi [宿根木] ~ Tatako-kan(Taiko Centre) たたこう館 (太鼓体験交流館) every 30 minutes.

Aikawa Tour Circle Bus “Kinzan Gururin”

This tour bus travels through the town of Aikawa, retaining its charm since its goldmine era. Take this opportunity to fully enjoy all there is to see in Aikawa.
