Ogi, the Town of Merchants: The Ogi Market at Earth Celebration “Ogi-no-Ichi”

The town of Ogi is rich with its townspeople’s culture. The local shopping arcade near the port park will be open with shops run especially by local merchants just for Earth Celebration!
There will be live shows on the pop-up mini-stage, traditional Japanese marching band making the rounds, and an exhibit project created by Kodo members to further enliven this town of fans. Come revel in the historic townscape, the fan-shaped arcade and mingle with locals.

In addition to exhibits and shops run by the local shopping arcade merchants, there will be special Earth Celebration live performances, parades, exhibits, etc.

Venue: Tennanso (Ogi, Sado)
Exhibition details: Drawings, photographs, hand-made instruments, stage apparatus, furniture, daily goods, etc. by Kodo members and staff.

“SALSAGUMTAPE” Ogi Town Parade
Back again this year: join a parade around the town of Ogi with Salsagumtape! Explore the town of Ogi in this parade of hand-made percussion instruments.

Chindon-ya Traditional Japanese Marching Band
Entertainers from the Chindon Geinousha will spread cheer and delight around the town of Ogi!
