Special Fringe Performance “Salsagumtape with Kodo”

With the NHK “Okaasan to Issho”program’s 5th “Uta no Oniisan” as the main character, the Rock Band “SALSAGUMTAPE” was founded in 1994. Tetsu KASHIWA and other fun companions of SALSAGUMTAPE will be attending the EC again this year.

About Salsa Gum Tape:

This rock band wanted to play cool rock, and has already been around for 23 years. In 1994, Tetsu KASHIWA, who was the 5th “Uta no Oniisan” of an NHK program, formed by welcoming people with disabilities using Kanagawa prefecture welfare facilities. The name of the band arrived from having started a free rhythm session with a hand-made drum from gum tape and a poly bucket.
Appearing on the NHK program “Minna no Uta”, by its 5th year they had their major debut with the single “Mahiru no Hoshi”. It co-stars with the legend Kiyoshiro IMAWANO, who is admired as the “symbol of rock and roll”. In addition, former “Blue Hearts” drummer Tetsuya KAJIWARA is also joining the regular members on drums. Since then, they have been strengthening their foundation as a professional band, including live activities in Japan and abroad, TV appearances and CD releases. From 2011, we set up our activity base in Atsugi city, and the band activities finally became members’ main work.
Rock is the ultimate barrier-free expression which breaks all walls and accepts everything. The live performance of the SALSAGUMTAPE is a bomb of energy and wraps in the audience with lots of LOVE.
