A Closer Look at “Learn about Sado, Cooking Traditional Sado Cuisine”

After last year’s success, the workshop “Learn about Sado, Cooking traditional Sado Cuisine” is offered again this year!

Wouldn’t it be interesting to cook rice the old fashion way? Or make a traditional sweet? At this workshop, the children get to experience the pleasure of making hand-made, local cuisine by themselves. With the local Grandmothers and Grandfathers as your teachers, this is your chance to really experience the traditional Japanese life here on Sado Island!

This is the perfect activity to make some unique summer memories during the day, before going to the Harbor Market live with the family!

Outline of Schedule:

9:30 – meet in front of the museum

10:00 – Begin cooking traditional sweet in Sado (Kataokoshi and Taigoro)

10:50 – Break

11:00 – building a fire, handcrafts(chopstick)

11:50 – making a rice balls

12:30 – lunch time(a rice ball, miso-soup, pickles, and etc.)

13:00 – conclusion

13:30 – Place of departure
