Below are some model transportation courses that have been designed to allow easy transfers. Find one that suits your travel plans for a leisurely trip to Sado.

The Joetsu Shinkansen prices listed include a basic fare plus the special-express ticket.
Please note that the times are train departure times and do not reflect the time needed for transfer within respective stations.
Some courses allow limited time for transit, so we recommend securing a seat reservation and/or tickets prior to travel.
The transfer from Niigata Station to Niigata Port takes about 30 minutes, inclusive of the time it takes to walk out of the station, etc. There are plenty of taxis leaving from the Bandai Exit at all times, so reservations are not necessary.
The transfer from Naoetsu Station to Naoetsu Port takes about 20 minutes, inclusive of the time it takes to walk out of the station, etc. Please note that there are not always taxis available at Naoetsu Station, so we recommend making a reservation ahead of time.
