Announcing the Sado Kisen Ferry “Tertiary Student Discount Campaign”

Sado Kisen Ferries are running a special “Tertiary Student Discount Campaign” to give university and other tertiary students discount fares on the car ferry (2nd class) and high-speed passenger boat “Aibisu” services to and from Sado Island.

There are also student tickets available for the Shiroyama Concerts, so we hope you’ll take advantage of both discounts and come to Earth Celebration this year!

■ Period: July 14 (Sat), 2012 – Mar. 31 (Sun), 2013
■ Available for: Tertiary students studying at a university, junior university, graduate school, or technical school.
■Contents:
1) Niigata – Ryotsu (Car Ferry 2nd class) One-way 2,440 yen → 1,620 yen
2) Naoetsu – Ogi (Car Ferry 2nd class) One-way 2,650 yen → 1,750 yen
3) Teradomari – Akadomari (High-speed passenger boat “Aibisu”) One-way 2,880 yen → 1,880 yen
*Please Note:
1) To receive discount: At the port, please show your student ID card and fill out an application form.
2) Discounts are not available for Jet Foil fares (Niigata – Ryotsu route), cars, or motorbikes.

Participant selection results will be sent to participants by postal mail or email by July 16 (Mon).

The second intake will only apply to workshops that still have space available after the first intake and will be accepted in order of arrival on a first-come, first-served basis.

New Shiroyama Guest Information! Singer Anna Sato from Amami

Anna Sato, a singer from Amami Oshima, will join Kodo for Kodo “Opening Night, the Shiroyama Concert on Day 1 of EC 2012 on August 17 (Fri). Traveling from one island to another, the clear echo of Ms. Sato’s island vocals will ring out from Sado this summer. We’ll update you about her performance when more details come to hand! Win a free Sado Kisen ferry ride for your car to EC! (For parents & kids)

There is a special gift campaign underway that offers 3,000 people the chance to win a return ferry ticket for their car to travel to Sado Island this summer. (Entrants must be traveling with their family, which includes both adults and children ages 17 & under, and will stay for at least one night in paid accommodations on Sado. Applications accepted until June 8 (Fri), 2012)

To enter, all you have to do is answer a few quiz questions. The ferry ticket can be used during EC, too, so get your application in now!
