African dance to Sado’s bamboo taiko. This special performance features bamboo taiko ensemble collaborating for the first time with Ujama, the African dance team. Come enjoy this vibrant dance to African beats.

Singer-songwriter specializing in narration over open-tuning acoustic guitar. This is my 14th consecutive year at the EC Fringe.
KAMO TSUNAMURA DAIKO friends
The Sendai Suzume Odori (or Sendai Sparrow Dance) originated in Sendai city and is performed to an ensemble of wadaiko and shinobue (bamboo flute). We’d like the workshop students from Kodo Juku and friend taiko players to come together to perform one original song.
Sanjo Taiko Sanshou Soushoukai
A vibrant performance of folk songs, group dancing and taiko to the beating of a blacksmith’s anvil will celebrate the history of the gold-mining town, the blacksmiths in Sanjo city, and kite-flying contest known in Sanjo. This performance is steeped in pride and love for a “taiko that feels like home.
Teppei Watanabe
Two songs “Yukichi” and “Honbataki” from Hachijo Taiko repertoire. Tsukihiko Ono will play base rhythm. Please come and see us.
Natsu Umare
Natsu Umare (Summer-born) is a duo formed by Natsuko Sugano (drums) and Shunpei Kuwabara (saxophone). Joined by a guest performer Appappa Kobo, a world-traveling folk rock singer, this performance will deliver a trans-national music!
Yasukazu Kano & Takafumi Imaizumi LIVE ★
Enjoy the breezy sounds of bamboo flute and guitar when this duo play original songs and famous tunes from all over, with some percussion solos also thrown in the mix.
Iwami Kagura < Iwami Kagura Yunotsu Maiko Company, Ohda, Shimane> ★
Iwami Kagura, a tradition in western Shimane prefecture and northwest Hiroshima prefecture, is known for its rhythmic, passionate music and dance, and is embraced by the young and old alike in its home regions. This year for the we have invited the Iwami Kagura Yu no Mai company to perform. This company directed the “Snake Dance” for “Kodo One Earth Tour ~ Mystery.” The company will perform three pieces. Among the Kodo members who attended rehearsals in Sado, Yosuke Kusa has been selected to appear in the snake dance.
