The highlight of Earth Celebration, Miyake Taiko, performs on the Fringe stage this year again!

Last December Kenta Nakagome (Kodo) encountered a long-admired artist Seitaro Kurota for a conversation interview in Coyote magazine. Now, this special performance was designed as a continuation of that meeting. Seitaro Kuroda, who participated in live painting performances in the early days of Earth Celebration, teams up with charismatic Tatsuya Nakamura, former drummer of Blankey Jet City, and Kenta Nakagome for the first ever improvisation session by this trio!

A pops group featuring sax, piano, and female vocals. Based in Tokyo, the group released their first mini album “humming not” in 2011. Their original ballads were well-received and their music can be heard on TBS radio among others.

Performances on the morin khuur, a Mongolina string instrument.

Featuring Minami Katabe On Taiko and others, with even a “kadozuke” demonstration around the town of Ogi.

60-minute 1-stick great taiko marathon

A wind ensmble based in Sado. They first collaborated as a group at the 2004 Fringe and have since participated in the Fringe. This year their set features great summer tunes like “Dancing Queen.”
