EC Special Events

This year is the 28th year of EC and marks a turning point as well as important “Celebration” to think about future EC. EC General Producer, Atsushi Sugano will take this opportunity to talk about the birth, history and future of EC. Please join us!

In conjunction with “The Beginnings and the Future of EC,” we will exhibit some key posters from past EC.

Seitaro Kuroda appears at the Special Fringe stage on Aug.23. Since he encountered Kodo, he took over an abandoned school on Sado and named it his studio “Gado (children of pictures). “He often visited Sado and drew the main visual illustrations for the first EC and Kodo’s performances in 1980s. This exhibition features several of these works.

The curtains used for the Information Centre have become faded due to its exposure to bright sunlight every year. The EC Committee is planning to restore the curtains for newly conceived Earth Celebration next year. For each donation of over 500 yen to this cause, donors will receive a past EC poster.
