Perform at the Fringe!［Ended］
Performers of all kinds respond to the open call to perform on the Fringe stage. Open call to performers of all kinds to appear at the Fringe stage. The Fringe will take place again on a special stage set up at the Harbour Market. Let’s enjoy taiko performances, shamisen story-telling, dance, folk music and other genres of performance that can only come together at Earth Celebration! Are you dying to share your artistry? We welcome you! Thanks to the support from Asano Taiko and Instrument Shop, wadaiko rentals are available again this year. We heartily welcome taiko groups to perform on stage.
Submit your application between May 20 (Sat) ~ June 30 (Fri).
Application Guidelines
We welcome both professional and amateur groups. There are no performance fees and groups are responsible for shipping their own instruments etc. Details on the wadaiko rentals will be released soon.
- Operating hours
Aug. 18 (Fri) 10:00~14:00
Aug. 19 (Sat) 10:00~14:00
Aug. 20 (Sun) 10:00~14:00
- The Special Fringe performance with this year’s invited guest musicians will occur during this timeframe.
- Please check the possible performance time slots on the application form.
- Location
Harbour Market Special Stage (within Ogi Port Park)
Performances will take place rain or shine; cancelled in the case of storms. (There is a roof above the stage.)
- Performance time
Each group will be allotted 30 minutes of performance time. Preparation (load-in, sound check), performance, clean-up (transition to next group) should be completed within one hour.

Instrument and sound check 10-15 minutes (within view of the audience)
Performance maximum 30 minutes
Clean-up and load-out 5-10 minutes
- A tent for dressing room is prepared but space is limited. Please arrive dressed and prepared to the fullest extent possible.
- We may not be able to provide all sound equipment requested. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
- How to Apply
Submit your application between May 20 (Sat) ~ June 30 (Fri). Fill out this on-line application form. After the selection and adjustment process, you will be notified by July 25 (Tue).
